Sample cylinders and valves with a rupture disc – technical information

Cylinders are perfectly suited for safe collection, storage and transport of both fluid and gas samples from a system to a laboratory for analysis. Widely used for sampling hydrocarbons in refineries, gas sampling in chromatography, fossil fuel condensate sampling, condensate sampling in nuclear plants, as pressure rise accumulator and muffler in chemical reactors. Made of seamless, cold-drawn stainless steel pipes (ASTM A269), ends formed using spinning process both with NPT female threads. Sandblast finish, inner and outer, for smooth and clean surface. Manufactured and tested in compliance with DOT 49 CFR 178.42 3E. All cylinders are hydrostatically tested to 3000 psi (206 bar), one cylinder per lot (500 pcs.) is tested to destruction. Used with H-285 valves with a rupture disc unit.

Sample cylinders and valves with a rupture disc unit can be used by trained personnel only, familiar with the operating manual!

They are mounted in control and measuring equipment systems directly before pressure gauges or pressure transmitters to protect these instruments against damage. The inlets of the valve manifold are connected to process lines, whereas the outlets connect measuring instruments. Manipulating the valves of the manifold allows making safe static pressure measurements, shutting a measuring instrument off from the process line, venting or releasing the agent from the instrument line, instrument calibration. The valve manifolds are commonly used with differential pressure transmitters. By measuring pressure difference in two spots of the processing system (measuring differential pressure), the flow rate can be determined, fluid level can be measured in closed tanks, pumps and filters can be easily inspected. The valve manifolds are widely used in industrial systems, especially those in the chemical industry and petrochemical industry (Oil & Gas). An example of the simplest configuration is 2-valve manifold with an inlet, main outlet and vent outlet. A pressure gauge is connected to the main outlet, the vent outlet remains free. To check pressure in the system, open the shut-off valve, then the pressure is supplied to the pressure gauge. To release the pressure from the pressure gauge, not causing damage, first close the shut-off valve and then open the vent valve, which releases the pressure from the pressure gauge. With the valve manifold fitted in the process line, you can measure the pressure in the system at any moment, in a safe and easy way.

As opposed to ball valves, the needle valve is opened and closed by turning a knob many times. The process is gradual, no sudden rise or drop of pressure occurs, which is critical especially for high pressure gas applications and high flow velocity. The needle valves, with a special regulating stem in particular, can be used to control the flow rate in a system.

    When an application requires highly accurate dosing of a medium, then metering needle valves are used. In this type of valves the medium flows through a calibrated hole in the seat of the valve. A tapered needle is in that seat. Movement of the needle closes or opens the flow allowing precise dosing of the medium by simple adjustment with the knob.

    The construction of precision needle valves is tested for performance at burst pressure and at test pressure; stem is blow-out proof; all parts are manufactured from certified materials and precisely finished. Every ball valve is tested with nitrogen at 1000 psi (69 bar) for leaks in the body and seals to ensure leak-tight shut-off and longest service life. The valves are made of corrosion-resistant materials, whereas the right sealing material can be chosen from many options so as to match any medium, pressure or temperature. Come with several different connections: threaded, weld-in and double ferrule connectors (LET-LOK®).

    • HTC® special couplings for ultra-pure gases and vacuum

    HTC® (Hi-Tech Components) special couplings for high purity and ultra pure gases and vacuum, comply with the requirements of the semiconductor industry, pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology. The couplings designed for connection to a pipeline via orbital welding and symmetrical thread face seal couplings with a metal gasket placed between the shoulders of the mating parts. There are test ports in the nuts for easy leak testing. The couplings are made of AISI 316L stainless steel (optional 316L Var or Vim/Var). The gaskets are in AISI 316 steel, silver-plated AISI 316 or nickel. The threads in the nuts are silver-plated.
