Testing of hydraulic hose assemblies with static pressure is a final hose assembly inspection for leak tightness and strength. For standard testing of hydraulic hoses 2 x working pressure is applied. Testing is conducted with static pressure and lasts for a dozens of seconds. Testing can be conducted on a part or 100% of certain production series. Testing benches are equipped with lockable testing tank in which one or a couple of hose assemblies can be tested simultaneously. Testing fluid is water, oil or oil emulsion.
Hose assembly testing with pulsating pressure according to hydraulic hose standards is conducted to determine the hose life in thousands of cycles. Such testing requires very complicated and expensive testing equipment.

Marking Machines

Permanent marking of flexible hose assemblies allows its identification and is essential according to many standards connected with flexible hoses. Marking of hydraulic flexible hoses has to include e.g. the name of producer, maximum working pressure, year and month of production. If a customer needs different type of information such as e.g. medium or special number, it can also be permanently put on the hose assembly. We offer many methods of such marking the most popular of which is marking with the use of special dies that allows for letters, numbers, manufacturer logo to be put on the ferrule during crimping. Other methods include permanent marking before crimping with a dynamic impressing of an inscription on the ferrule, manual engraving or using additional plates assembled on a hose assembly.

Hose Skiving and Fitting Inserting Machines

Skiving of external or internal layer of certain types of hydraulic rubber hoses is needed before crimping takes place. For that purpose simple manual or semi-automatic skiving machines were developed. Equipped with skiving knifes adjusted to hoses nominal diameter.
Process of inserting fittings into hoses can also be mechanized. For that purpose inserting fittings machines with pneumatic drive were designed. Such machines reduce assembly time and are very often integrated with multifunctional machines used for multi series production.

Hose Cutting Machines

Cutting machines, with electric drive, designed to cut hydraulic hoses with steel or textile braid as well as some industrial hoses. Equipped with standard (smooth) or toothed cutting blades with 2900 r.p.m. speed of rotation. Hose is manually (lever), pneumatically or hydraulically (foot-lever) pressed against the blade. The most important cutting machines parameters are: hose external diameter, type of hose to be cut, type of motor, drive and available accessories such as e.g. hose boss, cuts counter and length measuring unit. Automatic machines, that cut a certain length of the hose, are used for multi series production.

Construction and operation principle

All Finn-Power hose crimping machines are hydraulic. The hydraulic oil pressure in the system feeds the piston, which causes 8 main dies of the machine to clench. Replaceable, working dies are fitted on the main dies. They are selected according to the diameter of the crimped hose. Hydraulic pumps are electrically driven, smaller workshop models are hand operated or driven by compressed air. The crimping machines fitted on service cars are battery powered.

Crimping machine control

A standard parameter for all crimping operations is a final fitting diameter. The crimping machine stops when the pre-set crimp diameter is achieved (simple manual crimpers have indicators to signal that the desired diameter is achieved – then the crimping operation must stop). The electrically driven crimping machines can be optionally equipped with a pressure control system (crimping machine stops when the pre-set system pressure is reached).

Type of hose assemblies (1 or 2 braids, multi-braid).
Production volume, e.g. 500 pcs. / week.
Homogeneity of production batches – will there be large series of same hose assemblies.
